Andrea Gilli is a Senior Researcher in Military Affairs at the NATO Defense College in Rome and an Affiliate of the Center for International Security and Cooperation of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. His work has been published or is forthcoming in leading journals in his field such as International Security, Security Studies, Journal of Strategic Studies, and the RUSI Journal. Gilli is among the handful of Europe-based security studies scholars whose publications are or has been assigned for classes in the most prestigious universities in the world including Harvard University, Stanford University, ETH-Zurich, Columbia University, University of California Berkeley, Ohio State University, University of Chicago, Yale University, Georgetown University, Princeton University, University of Edinburgh, SciencePo, University of Bologna, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, among others.
Gilli has consulted for leading defense organizations, including one of the ten biggest defense companies in the world, the U.S. Department of Defense’s Office of Net Assessment, the EU Military Committee as well as other armed forces or intelligence agencies.
